Joanna Herd , trained in classical ballet alongside her older sister, Nicole Lam, since the age of six years old. Her early training began with Hawaii State Ballet under the directors of John Landovsky and Gina Surles. Joanna attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she minored in dance and earned a BA in Studio Art. For ten years, Joanna has been teaching, choreographing, and performing with Prisma Dance and has been a part of their original productions, “Creation,” “Seasons,” and “The Christmas Story.” The experience of getting to work with hundreds of different children through the arts has been a gift that is priceless. “They may not remember everything I teach them, but I do hope their experience will always stay in their hearts as a valuable treasure, and be a tool that will help them excel in whatever lies before them.”
